The wisdom of those who came before us is more than story or memory—it is guidance for how to live well, across time and generations. The theme Live the Teachings as We Are Meant To explores what it means to root our lives in enduring traditional values. These include the Seventh Generation Principle, which holds that all decisions made in the present should result in a better world—not just today or tomorrow, but seven generations from now. Although many of us are living away from our homelands and learning in new contexts, the lessons of our ancestors remain vital, offering direction for nurturing relationships and fostering community. This November, the Indigenous Student Center invites the campus community to gather, reflect upon, and honor the values, practices, and teachings that guide your path.
