Tom Erickson becomes Verona Operations MDS Warehouse Manager

I am pleased to announce Tom Erickson has accepted the Verona Operations MDS Warehouse Manager position within the Division of Business Services. Tom’s first day in his new position was April 10, 2023. His primary responsibilities include managing multiple functions within the Verona Operations facility such as receipt and re-delivery of packages arriving from various parcel carriers, picking and packing orders for delivery from the MDS core stock inventory, assisting campus departments with general warehouse storage and maintaining Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreements for each, and maintaining inventory accuracy of the MDS catalog items available on ShopUW+. Tom has been with Verona Operations since 2006, starting as a Truck Driver with responsibility for delivery of gas cylinders to campus locations. He joined the warehouse team in 2016 and has since progressed through several roles in learning all aspects of the operation including Inventory Control Coordinator, and MDS Driver Supervisor. Most recently, Tom served as the MDS Warehouse Manager in a temporary capacity while plans were made to conduct the recruitment for the position vacancy. Prior to joining the Verona Operations, Tom was an Assistant Superintendent of Maintenance at the University Ridge Golf Course. Tom’s work experience gained in these previous roles position him well to succeed in managing the warehouse operations.
