July 26 is National Disability Independence Day

On July 26, 1990, President H.W. Bush signed the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) into law. To mark the 32nd anniversary of ADA, the Division of Business Services Leadership Team and the EID Committee have invited Kacie Lucchini Butcher to present, “Disability History at UW–Madison: Stories of Struggles and Perseverance” via Zoom. Kacie is Director of The Public History Project within the Department of History at UW–Madison. We hope you will plan to tune in to this interesting presentation: Tuesday, July 26, 2022 2-2:45 p.m. Look for the Zoom invite on your Outlook calendar and kindly accept or decline by July 12, 2022. Also, the following designated viewing areas will be set up so you can watch with your colleagues:
    • Verona Operations – conference room
    • 333 E Campus Mall, Bursar’s Office – conference room
    • 21 N Park Street – Room 1108
Cookies will be provided in the designated viewing areas. The Americans with Disabilities Act breaks down barriers and promotes equality for people with disabilities. We are proud to celebrate this important civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public.
