National Disability Independence Day with Kacie Lucchini Butcher

To mark the 32nd anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 2022, Kacie Lucchini Butcher delivered a Disability History at UW–Madison presentation to Business Services personnel via Zoom. Approximately 50 people joined the session from their workstations or at designated viewing locations (Verona, 21 N. Park Street, and Bursar’s Office). Kacie is the Director of the UW–Madison Public History Project. She discussed challenges experienced by individuals with disabilities on campus and progress made toward making improvements. The presentation was both informative and interesting. Here are some resources for more information about the Public History Project and disability history on campus: The Public History Project exhibit at the Chazen Museum of Art opens September 12, 2022 and runs through December 30, 2022. Plan to check it out!
