Pride Month is recognized by the Library of Congress to commemorate the events of June 1969 and support work to achieve equal justice and equal opportunity for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Other (LGBTQ+) Americans.
To kick off the month, the Business Services Engagement, Inclusion, and Diversity (EID) Committee is hosting Pride Awareness Week June 1-7, 2021. The week will feature a series of activities to raise awareness about the LGBTQ+ community. During the first four days of the week, committee members will send an email each day to division personnel inviting all to participate independently in brief activities.
On the final day of Pride Awareness Week (Monday, June 7, 2021, 3:00-4:00 p.m.), an informational session and conversation about LGBTQ+ inclusion will be facilitated for the division by Katherine Charek Briggs, Assistant Director of the Campus Gender and Sexuality Center at UW-Madison. We hope that you will plan to join us! Please pre-register here for this session by Friday, June 4, 2021.
